PAUL BOYD MARKS 25 YEARS OF NEW MUSICALS

This year Paul Boyd is celebrating 25 years of new musicals, and a new video ident has been released with a new musical jingle featuring melodies from 6 of his most popular songs.

Starting with "Lost and Alone" from HANSEL & GRETTEL (1997), the track segues into "There's No Such Thing" from TINSELTOWN (2014), "Guardian Angel" from MOLLY WOBBLY (2011), and "Like I Can" from HUNCHBACK THE MUSICAL (2013).  Keen-eared listeners will then note the distinctive bass line of "The Blue-Haired Fairy's Song" from PINOCCHIO (2003) which sneaks in before the final melody, a theme from TINSELTOWN (2014).

To celebrate Paul's 25th Anniversary in 2017, a revised edition of his first show MACBETH THE MUSICAL is set to be unveiled.

MACBETH THE MUSICAL was the show that launched Paul's career; it premiered at the University of Ulster in 1992 where Paul was a student, and the show was picked up by a producer and toured across Ireland for the next two years.  Paul retired the show in 1994 following one final tour, and "Macbeth The Musical" has not been available to produce since then.

A new revised version of the script, an updated score, and a new recording of the show will be available to producers in 2017.  It is hoped that the show might return to the stage in the near future.  To keep up to date with details, visit the MACBETH THE MUSICAL page in the SHOWS menu above.
